Khyber Pass Zarparan Restaurant

Khyber Pass Zarparan is a family-owned restaurant in the Hillcrest neighborhood of San Diego, serving Afghan and Persian cuisine for over 36 years and recognized as the first Afghan restaurant in Southern California, opened in 1984. Owners Anna and Cyrus prepare freshly made dishes using quality ingredients, including all-natural lean beef, free-range chicken, wild-caught fish, and pasture-raised lamb, with vegetarian and largely gluten-free options available. The restaurant offers a welcoming, friendly atmosphere and is open for lunch and dinner Monday and Wednesday through Sunday, closed Tuesdays.
